Real tiny bone mandala 2022
 
This lovely little mandala has been created from real vole and mice bones. The jaw bones featured in this design are from voles.
 
The mandala has been mounted onto a lovely matte black Fabriano card and is displayed in a black12x12cm shadowbox frame with a black matte border.
The glass has been removed for the photos.
 
All these artworks are created with real bones sourced ethically/naturally through wild owl pellets.
 
The owl pellets are dissected for the skulls and bones then the bones are cleaned and whitened over several days. I then go through the bones sorting them into different bone types using tweezers, then they go into my bone boxes ready to use for my artwork. Each step of my process is tedious and time consuming which is reflected in the prices. Prices are dependant upon the time taken, the style of the art and the availability of the bone types used.
