A beautiful skull pattern created with real vole & mice skulls
 
This artwork features 15 real mice skulls and 10 real vole skulls. I can't create skull pieces often as it takes a long time to find this many in good enough condition to use for my art. 
The tiny skulls have been mounted onto a matte black Fabriano card and the artwork is displayed in a 12x12 black shadowbox frame with a black border. (Glass removed for photos)
A lot of time has gone into processing, cleaning and sorting through the skulls to find the perfect ones for the artwork.
Made with real skulls sourced ethically/naturally through wild owl pellets. The skulls are dissected from the owl pellets and then they are cleaned and whitened. Then they are sorted through meticulously into my bone boxes ready to use for art. All the tiny of strands of fur left over from the cleaning process have also been removed from the skulls.
 
My art process is long and tedious. Each bone has been individually selected and carefully put into place before glueing them down. Tweezers and a needle are used to carefully move the bones to make sure they work with one another and flow naturally.
