Crescent moon created from real bones
A unique, beautiful moon design created with real tiny bones from mice, voles and shrews.
The artwork is displayed in a 20x20cm shadow box frame (Glass removed for pgotos)
The crescent shape has been cut out of card and mounted slightly off the background to give a slight 3D effect.
This particular piece uses bones that have a more natural colouring to them as opposed to the whiter bones I normally use.
All my artwork in this style is unique using a different layout of bones each time.
A lot of time has gone into finding the perfect bones to make this piece. My process is very long and super fiddly, each tooth has been individually selected and carefully put into place before glueing them down. Tweezers and a needle are used to carefully move the bones to make sure they work with one another, if a tooth is a fraction of a mm too big or small I will search through my collection boxes for the right one.
Made with remains sourced ethically/naturally through wild owl pellets.
