Real bone paw print
 
A lovely little paw print artwork created from real, tiny mice, shrew and vole bones.
The paw print is situated on a lovely black Fabriano card and is mounted slightly off the background to create a slight 3D effect.
It is displayed in a black frame with a black matte border. The frame measures 12x12cm.
 
These artworks are created with real bones sourced ethically/naturally through wild owl pellets. The owl pellets are dissected and then the bones are cleaned and whitened over several days. I then go through the bones sorting them into different bone types using tweezers, then they go into my bone boxes ready to use for my artwork.
 
My art process is very long and tedious. Each bone has been individually selected and carefully put into place before glueing them down. Tweezers and a needle are used to carefully move the bones to make sure they work with one another and flow naturally.
