"Vortex" 
A little twist on an older design, this beautiful artwork has been made from real mice and vole jaws, axis vertebrae and tiny vole incisors and molars.
 
The tiny jaws and bones have been hand painted with 3 coats of a gorgeous pearlescent turquoise. 
Please note that the colour is really hard to capture on camera and the photos dont do this piece justice at all, it is more of a green than blue, but the colour is absolutely gorgeous in real life.
The mandala has been mounted onto an acrylic white background and is displayed in a 12x12cm shadowbox frame. It has a splatter effect border in the same colour to compliment the artwork.
 The glass has been removed for the photos.
 
All these artworks are created with real bones sourced ethically/naturally through wild owl pellets.  The owl pellets are dissected for the skulls and bones then the bones are cleaned and whitened over several days. I then go through the bones sorting them into different bone types using tweezers, then they go into my bone boxes ready to use for my artwork.
