Steampunk bone mandala 2023
This beautifully busy artwork has been created from real tiny bones and steampunk cogs.
The bones used in this piece are from mice, voles and shrews. They are all sourced ethically/naturally through wild owl pellets.
This artwork is situated on matte black fabriano card and it is displayed in 12x12cm black shadow box frame with a black border.
 
My art process is long and tedious. Each bone has been individually selected and carefully put into place before glueing them down. Tweezers and a needle are used to carefully move the bones to make sure they work with one another and flow naturally. The cogs have all been invididually selected to make sure they work with the bones, lots of combinations are tested during the process of my steampunk creations. 
 
Colours may differ due to lighting, it is hard to capture the colours of the little cogs, there are a mix of 3 colours amongst them, my favourite being the rose gold ones!
