A lovely, simplistic display of 9 real vole skulls.
 
The remains have been mounted onto a matte black Fabriano card and the artwork is displayed in a 12x12 black shadowbox frame with a black border. (Glass removed for photos)
Made with real skulls sourced ethically/naturally through wild owl pellets. The skulls are dissected from the owl pellets and then they are cleaned and whitened. Then they are sorted through meticulously into my bone boxes ready to use for art.
 
My art process is long and tedious. Each bone has been individually selected and carefully put into place before glueing them down. Tweezers and a needle are used to carefully move the bones to make sure they work with one another and flow naturally.
Although simple a lot of time has gone into cleaning these skulls and removing all the tiny strands of fur attached to them.
