Curiosities #6
A beautiful arrangement created from real animal skulls, bones and teeth! Each piece in my curiosities series is unique. This is the largest in this series (So far!)
This particular piece features a fox jaw bone centrepiece. It also contains the teeth and bones from the following UK species
Squirrel, rat, fox, deer, sheep, rabbit, mouse, polecat, badger, magpie, vole and shrew. It also contains a vole skull and 2 shrew skulls!
These remains are all ethically/naturally sourced, they have been in my personal collection for many years.
Please note that the camera distorts the angles and spaces, this piece looks stunning in real life!
The bones have been carefully positioned using tweezers, it takes a long time to create these layouts so each bone works with one another and the design flows naturally. I don't have a huge amount of these bones to work with so it takes some time to find the perfect placing for them.
The bones are then carefully glued into place onto the matte black Fabriano card background. The artwork is displayed in a 20x20cm black shadowbox frame with a black border.
