Rose gold bone heart
Created with a real shrew skull and real tiny mice, shrew and vole bones.
 
Each bone has been hand painted with a tiny brush in a beautiful rose gold paint.
 
The bone heart is situated on a white acrylic card background and displayed in a white 12x12cm shadowbox frame, with rose gold and white corner accents to compliment the design. The glass has been removed for the photos.
My art process is  long and tedious. Each bone has been individually selected and carefully put into place before glueing them down. Tweezers and a needle are used to carefully move the bones to make sure they work with one another and flow naturally.
 
The bones used in these artworks are sourced ethically/naturally through wild owl pellets. The owl pellets are dissected for the skulls and bones, then I clean and whiten them over several days. They are then sorted into my bone boxes ready to use for my artwork.
I have tried to show the artwork in a couple of different lightings as it's hard to capture the colours on my camera.
