A unique blood red bone heart!
This absolutely stunning bone artwork has been created from real mice, shrew and vole bones. Each tiny bone has been hand individually painted/stained with a brush to create a blood red colouring. 
A lot of time and patience has gone into making this as perfect as possible, it looks even more beautiful in person!
The bone heart is situated on a white acrylic card background and displayed in a lovely ornate, solid white frame.

Each bone arrangement I make is unique using a different layout of bones each time, inspired by the natural flow of the bones. 
This particular piece took 24 hours to create, not including the processes that take place before the artworks are started.
Made with real bones sourced ethically/naturally through wild owl pellets. The bones are dissected from the owl pellets and then they are cleaned and whitened. Then they are sorted through meticulously into my bone boxes ready to use for art.
My art process is long and tedious. Each bone has been individually selected and carefully put into place before glueing them down. Tweezers and a needle are used to carefully move the bones to make sure they work with one another and flow naturally. The colouring process takes a lot of patience in itself.
